Pre-Requisite

  1. For successful completion of this process charge your phone up to a minimum of 75% battery.
  2. You must take a back-up of all your personnel items and other impotent data, such as Call Logs, SMS, Contacts, Audios, Images, Videos, APN (Access Point Names) settings, Bookmarks, MMS settings, on your phone.
  3. If you have not, then you must unlock your Android device’s Bootloader.
  4. You must have rooted down your Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 before applying this tutorial.
  5. You must enable “USB Debugging” mode and “Allow Mock Locations” mode on your Samsung Galaxy Ace. Just follow, Settings-> Applications-> Development-> USB debugging. There select the USB Debugging and Allow Mock Locations icons.

Steps for Increasing RAM on Samsung Galaxy Y S5360

Step 1

Firstly, you must install a ClockworkMod Recovery on your Samsung Galaxy Y S5360. To do this, you can take help from here:

  1. Firstly, download a CWM Touch Recovery Samsung Galaxy Y S5360.zip file to your phone.
  2. Next, extract the above downloaded CWM Touch Recovery Samsung Galaxy Y S5360.zip file in your memory card using Zipper.
  3. After extracting it, you will have a folder named as “Backup” with 2 other files “Thumbs.db” and “Desktop.jpg”.
  4. Now, under the “Backup” you will have one folder named as “DDLE1”. While in “DDLE1” folder you will have System.rfs.tar, Cache.rfs.tar, Nandroid.rsf.tar, etc.
  5. Now, switch off your phone to enter into the Recovery Mode. For this just press the Down Volume & Home button simultaneously, and while pressing these buttons press down your Power button at the same time.
  6. Since you are now in the Recovery Mode, select the “Wipe Data/Factory Reset” and “Wipe Cache Partition” options for wiping off data and all the caches from your phone memory.
  7. Now select the “Backup & Restore” option.
  8. Next, under the “Restore” choose the “DDLE1” option.
  9. Finally, click to confirm for restoring DDLE1.
  10. Now wait for about 10 minutes for flashing process to complete.
  11. After the completion of this process, you should select the “reboot system now” option to restart your device, and then reboot it in the Normal Mode.
  12. After this, you’ll have ClockworkMod recovery installed over your Samsung Galaxy Y S5360.

Now, download a Link2SD file to your Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 smartphone and then install it.

Step 3

After installing Link2SD, run it and follow the given procedure.

  1. Click on ext2 option and then click to OK.
  2. Next click on OK option to restart your phone.
  3. Then go to the Settings.
  4. In the settings, “Auto Link” and “Auto Link Notification” icons must be checked. Then click on Install location option.
  5. Finally, click on External icon and after that choose Power off option to switch of your phone.

Step 4

Now, download Swapper2 app to your Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 smartphone and then install it.

Step 5

After installing Link2SD, run it and follow the given procedure.

  1. Go to the “Swapper Configuration” option.
  2. Now, click on the Active Swap on Boot option.
  3. Then select the FAT partition on your SD Card as your “Swap File Position”.
  4. Now, allocate 200 MB (but you may also choose whatever you want) as the Swap File size.
  5. Finally, click on “Save” option and wait till the process completes.

Step 6

After the completion of this process, you should select the “reboot system now” option to restart your Samsung Galaxy Y S5360, and then reboot it in the Normal Mode.
