Pre-Requisite:

  1. You must take a back-up of all your personnel items and other impotent data, such as Call Logs, SMS, Contacts, Audios, Images, Videos, APN (Access Point Names) settings, Bookmarks, MMS settings, of your HTC One.
  2. For successful completion of this process charge your Android device with up to a minimum of 25% – 30% battery.
  3. It is desirable that you must take out the SIM as well as external memory card from your HTC One.

Steps for performing the hard reset on HTC One:

Method 1

If your HTC One is properly responding to its display screen then attempt this method. This method is much preferred.

Step 1

Firstly go the Home screen of your HTC One, and there select the   icon.

Step 2

Under the  option, select the ‘Backup and Reset’ icon.

Step 3

Next, in the ‘Backup and Reset’ option, select the ‘Reset Phone’ icon.

Step 4

Now, under the above selected option, touch the ‘Erase all data’ icon.

Step 6

Finally, touch ‘Reset Phone’ and then select the ‘OK’ option to wipe off all of the data and all the information from your phone memory.

Step 7

After the completion of this process, HTC One will get restart to finish the above procedure.

Method 2

If your HTC One get some fatal error or it just freezes, then perform the following the method.

Step 1

Firstly, Shut Down or power down your HTC One.

Step 2

When it gets completely OFF, first take out the battery and then again put it in the phone. Now, press the Down button of volume as well as Power button of phone simultaneously, and when your Android device powers up then only release them.

Step 4

After this, using the Down volume button to select the ‘Factory Reset’ option and then press down the Power button of your Android phone to select and execute the above selected option’s function.

Step 5

Finally after this, you’ll have your HTC One hard reset and restored back to the factory settings.
