Cyanogen Mod 9 for Infuse 4G

In this article we will tell you about Cyanogen Mod 9 for Infuse 4G. Here’s the details.

It seems as if Infuse 4G will not get the official Ice Cream Sandwich, but the custom development community always finds out a solution. Top reputed XDA developer Entropy 512 has found a way to build CM9 ROMs for the purpose of Infuse, which can provide Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0.3 in custom ROM form.

However, the ROM is still in the beta level, resulting in several things that either completely does not work or work with faults. Thus, before trying out the ROM, make sure to pay attention to everything mentioned in the article. The basic thing to remember is that this ROM and the process given below are only suitable for Samsung Infuse 4G, model number 1997. Make sure not to try this in any other device.

There are some pre-installation that is important to be taken care of. An Infuse 4G with ClockWorkMod recovery needs to be installed in the device first. The procedure will delete all the applications, settings, and data, but it will not erase anything from the SD card.

Move the downloaded zip files from first and second step to the internal SD card on your phone. Switch off the phone and boot into ClockWorkMod recovery. You can use volume up and down keys to scroll between the options and power button to choose an option.

Choose install zip from SD card and then select choose zip from SD card. Move to the ROM file shown on the SD card and select it. After this, confirm the installation by choosing “yes”-then “install”. Now zip on the next screen, the ROM will begin the installation process.

When the procedures are finished, select “go back” option and then choose “reboot system”. This will reboot the phone. When you will select reboot, it will get stuck in the Samsung screen. Now, press the up, down key of volume option, and the power key together till the phone reboots.

Now leave the power key only, not the volume up and down keys until you see a recovery option on the screen. Select mount and storage. Select format system and confirm by clicking on the “yes” option. Select format cache and confirm “yes”.

Now visit the recovery menu again. Repeat the installation zip from SD card, choose ROM file on the SD card. Choose installation from the “yes” key. Once this is done, go to the main recovery menu.

Repeat the process again mentioned in the last sentence just discussed again, and choose the Google apps file gapps-ics-20120317-signed.zip and install the Google apps. Now, again reboot the system as had been done earlier.
